MARRIAGE PREPARATION - LOCAL OPTIONS
For Better & Forever – with local Sponsor Couples (various parishes)
Many parishes have sponsor couples that can offer the For Better & Forever program. This is a ‘mentorship based’ program, where an engaged couple is matched with a sponsor couple from their parish. They meet during 5-6 sessions at times that work for both of the couples’ schedules. While sessions are typically offered in person at the sponsor couple’s home, it may also be possible to connect remotely by choose an online meeting platform that works for both couples. Cost: $125 (cheques are payable to CACR of St. Boniface) – this includes the books which are available at the Archdiocesan Centre. * Engaged couples should verify with their parish if this is an option for them!
Mary, Mother of the Church - 4-Session Program: April 2024
Mary, Mother of the Church Parish (85 Kirkbridge Drive, Winnipeg) welcomes couples from throughout the Archdiocese to journey with us as you undertake the discernment process towards the Sacrament of Marriage. Sacramental Marriage Preparation at Mary, Mother of the Church will take place on April 2, 6, 7, and 9, 2024. The times are as follows:
Tuesday, April 2 - 6:30PM to 9:00PM
Saturday, April 6 - 10:00AM to 9:00PM
Sunday, April 7 - 1:30PM to 5:00PM
Tuesday, April 9 - 6:30PM to 9:00PM

The engaged couples journey with an instructor couple through a program that incorporates teachings on Theology of the Body. The program is offered in English, French, and Spanish. Cost: $194 USD/couple (approx. $250 CAD.)

This program is available on Formed.org, a Catholic media website which hosts many movies and Catholic video programs. Beloved is accessible on this website with a membership. (Free trial for 7 days and then $10 USD [approx. $15 CAD]/month; several parishes offer a free FORMED subscription to their parishioners.)
Couple’s Guides are approx. $45 USD (approx. $60 CAD) and can be purchased through the link provided. * The DVD set is also available FREE through the Archdiocesan Resource Library. - Second Option – Joy Filled Marriage: www.ascensionpress.com/collections/joy-filled-marriage
This program has a particular focus on Theology of the Body (taught by Christopher West). With the purchase of 1 ‘Couple’s Set’ ($55 USD – approx. $75 CAD), couples gets 1 ‘Group Study Credit’ which allows them online access to the videos via Ascensionpress.com. Pastors/pastoral support will need to get a ‘Leaders’ Set’ ($70 USD – approx. $95 CAD), which will also grant them a ‘Group Study Credit’ to access the videos online.

Please Note: All engaged couples in the Archdiocese of Saint Boniface must also register and attend the Fertility Health Awareness Seminar. There is no cost.
