NEW - Bishop LeGatt - Memento Mori

As winter sets in and the year’s is on the horizon, the month of November is a time of year where we are drawn to think about our dearly departed, and about death more broadly. Indeed, death is interwoven in life, and is inescapable. This month, Archbishop Albert offers us a reflection on how we can approach death, encouraging us to hold each other in prayer and support, that we may all experience a good death, a holy death, and eternity with our loving God.

Pastoral Services – Annual Report 2024–2025

"As archbishop, my responsibilities are many: to teach, sanctify, and govern; to share the Good News of the saving Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ; to provide the spiritual and sacramental nourishment necessary for growth in holiness; and to guide people toward a common vision and communion of faith, hope, and love, lived in fraternity, solidarity, and justice.

This service to Jesus Christ and his Body, the Church, can certainly be accomplished, but never by me alone. All the baptized are called to be involved in our archdiocese. This is where the Pastoral Services Team comes in. Its mission is manifested daily as it reaches out to you, especially through your parishes, to help you live your ministry fully in the Church and within your community." - Bishop Albert LeGatt

NEW - Bishop LeGatt - On the Importance of Dialogue and Connection

As our world becomes increasingly polarized, this month, Archbishop Albert reflects on the role each of us can play to counter hate and violence in our world. Namely, he reflects on the importance of relationship, of encounter, and of charity for all.

Pope Leo XIV releases his first Apostolic Exhortation, Dilexi te

Thursday, October 9, 2025 - Pope Leo XIV released his first Apostolic Exhortation, Dilexi te (“I have loved you”), on the Church’s care for the poor. Drafted by Pope Francis before his death and now revised and issued by Pope Leo XIV, the Exhortation is in continuity with Pope Francis’ last encyclical, Dilexit nos (“He has loved us”), on the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Pope Leo emphasizes that “love for the Lord . . . is one with love for the poor” (n. 5). Divided into five chapters, the Exhortation outlines God’s identification with the poor (chapter 2), the centrality of the poor in the Church’s life (chapter 3), the development of the Church’s social doctrine over the past 150 years (chapter 4), and the challenge facing the Church today (chapter 5). In his accompanying letter addressed to the Bishops of the world, Pope Leo outlines his hope for this Apostolic Exhortation: “May Dilexi te help the Church to serve the poor and help bring the poor to Christ.”

The Apostolic Exhortation Dilexi te is now available on the Holy See’s website by clicking here or on the photo.
