Lent is the 40-day period from Ash Wednesday until sundown on Holy Thursday, a period corresponding to the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness and enduring temptations from the devil before beginning his public ministry (Luke 4.1-13).
We are called to recommit ourselves to Christ as we journey through Lent, preparing to celebrate His death and His resurrection. It is helpful to focus on three pillars in choosing our Lenten promises: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Click on each of the icons below to learn more about each pillar and to find resources corresponding to each one. May we strengthen our faith as we seek ways to live out these three practices more fully this Lenten season.
"Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths." (Psalm 25:4)
