How Can You Help? 

As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought forth many challenges, but perhaps none more urgent than helping the many Manitobans who are struggling to put food on the table.

The province’s food banks are in short supply and can’t keep up with the demand of families in need.

If you are able to help and looking for ways to give back to the community, please contact one of the following organizations to find out how you can best help them serve the community: 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Diocesan Collection for the Sagkeeng Community

The diocese is organizing a collection for the community of Sagkeeng, which is currently in increasing need for non-perishable foodstuffs. The collection will begin on June 1st, but we invite you to take action today.


Take the time to rummage through your pantry, or visit your local grocery store to get the following products: sugar, flour, yeast, peanut butter, soups, pasta sauce (spaghetti), pasta, oatmeal, brown sugar, potatoes, carrots, Klik, salmon tins, baby food, Cheez Whiz, dried peas, granola tablets, cookies, crackers, Jello, bacon, rice, jam, dried beans, baked beans, as well as baby items, including disposable diapers.

Agape Table is in need of volunteers to prepare and serve breakfast and run the food bank. They do so while maintaining social distancing measures.

 

They are also in urgent need of items such as: coffee whitener, sandwich fillings, to-go soup bowls and coffee cups with matching lids, plastic spoons and forks, and stir sticks.

St. Boniface Street Links is currently unable to welcome volunteers, but they are in need of donations of food, hygiene products, and money to keep up with their increased outreach to those experiencing homelessness.
