Frequently Asked Questions

Must we register to participate in the Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Celebration?

Yes. If you are a couple celebrating your anniversary, please register so that we may plan the celebration according to the numbers attending. Register here: www.bit.ly/celebration-2026

Can we participate if 2026 is not a “Milestone Anniversary” year?

All couples married in the Catholic Church—regardless of the number of years married—are welcome to register, participate, and renew their vows during the Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Celebration.

Couples celebrating a Milestone Anniversary (1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, and so on) will receive a signed certificate from Archbishop Albert LeGatt.

If you are not celebrating a milestone anniversary but would still like a certificate, please indicate this request on the registration form.

Is the Anniversary Celebration Mass a Sunday Liturgy?

Yes. This Mass is a Sunday Liturgy. The readings and Gospel have been chosen by Archbishop Albert LeGatt to reflect on the theme of marriage. This Mass fulfills your Sunday Mass obligation.

What time should we arrive and where do we go?

Please arrive at Saint Boniface Cathedral (180 de la Cathédrale Avenue) at least 15 minutes before Mass. Mass begins at 3:30 PM. Upon arrival, you will be directed to the Narthex to receive your Wedding Anniversary Certificate.

If you are serving as a lector, or participating in a procession, please arrive at 2:30 PM.

Where should we park and which entrance do we use?

Parking is available in the Cathedral parking lot and on de la Cathédrale Avenue. Please refer to the parking and entry map. An elevator-accessible entrance is available on de la Cathédrale Avenue.

What is the typical style of dress for participants?

Typically, gentlemen wear anything from a suit to a nice dress shirt and slacks. Ladies typically wear semi-formal to Sunday church dresses.

Will refreshments be available?

Yes. A light reception will be held in the Cathedral Hall immediately following Mass. The Hall is accessible by elevator or stairs.

Can families members and friends attend the Mass and reception?

Yes! Please invite your family and friends to celebrate with you. In the registration form, you are asked to indicate an approximate number of guests who will join you.

Is there a fee for having a photo taken with the Archbishop?

All couples celebrating their special anniversary are welcome to have a photo taken with Archbishop Albert LeGatt during the reception. There is no cost. Photos with the Archbishop will be available through an online album after the celebration. Donations may be made if desired.
