NEW - A Special Invitation by bishop LeGatt

Bishop Albert invites you to two important events for our diocese: the Annual Diocesan Gala... and a special celebration of Solemn Vespers.

The Saint-Boniface Archdiocesan Gala will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Saint-Boniface Cathedral Hall (basement). Tickets are on sale for $150 each with a $75 tax receipt! Proceeds for the improvement of the Cathedral’s audio-visual system. Tickets can be purchased on the diocesan website, archsaintboniface.ca For more information, contact Julie Turenne-Maynard by email at consultationjtmconsulting@gmail.com or by phone at 204-771-5585.

Vespers to mark the 25th anniversary of the episcopate of Bishops LeGatt and Goulet – 20 September 2026. Come and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the episcopate of Bishop Albert LeGatt and Bishop Émilius Goulet on Sunday 20 September at 4.30 pm at Saint-Boniface Cathedral. Comprising psalms and hymns, as well as a short reading, usually taken from the Epistles, Vespers forms part of the Liturgy of the Hours, one of the oldest services in the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. The Liturgy of the Hours, particularly the Office of Vespers, has its origins in the Hebrew tradition. The traditional Jewish pattern of ‘reading – singing – prayer’ has, in fact, always been present in the Liturgy of the Hours and particularly in Vespers. It is therefore a form of Church prayer dating back to the time of the early Christians. What a beautiful way to pray as a Church, through song and the Word, and to mark this important anniversary for our archbishops!

NEW - Bishop LeGatt - A Look Back... and Forward!

Twenty-five years ago, Archbishop LeGatt was installed as bishop of Saskatoon. For the past 17 years, he has served as archbishop of Saint-Boniface. NEW - A Brief Look at Relics with Sean Pilcher

Enjoy this brief overview with internationally renowned relic expert Sean Pilcher, Director of Sacra Relics, on the history, theology, and proper veneration of relics in the Catholic Church.

This short summary is from his June 23 presentation, "Discover the Spiritual Significance of Relics", given at St. Timothy Parish in St. Vital.

Drawing from Scripture, tradition, and centuries of Christian devotion, Sean explored the important role relics have played in the life of the Church and their continuing significance today.

NEW - Results of the Good Shepherd Campaign 2025

The 2025 Good Shepherd Campaign "For the Life of the Church" raised $367,513, or 95% of our goal of $400,000. This impressive sum exceeds the results of the last two campaigns, which reached $314,511 and $305,532 respectively.

This spring we saw the ordination to the transitional diaconate of two of our seminarians, Vincent Nguyen and Joseph-Martin Ngoc Hien Pham. They will be ordained priests next spring. This is the fruit of your donations!

Apart from these two, we have seven other seminarians along the way:

  • Joseph Emmanuel Mukena (Congo) in his fourth year of five years
  • Shiju Vincy (India) is doing his internship year at Christ the King
  • Valentin Dilenga (Congo), after a year of learning English, is entering the first of these five years of formation for the priesthood.
  • The same goes for Anthony Hoang (Vietnamese) in Canada since 2017.
  • Vincent Dubé (Saint-Martyrs) is starting his first year of philosophy.
  • André Fillion (Ste-Anne) ie beginning a preparatory spiritual year at Serra House in Toronto.

God is good!
