Summer: A Time for Rest, Relaxation and Prayer
Just as the human heart, we too must rest between beats. And the summer season is the hallmark time for such rest, to take a step away from our daily obligations and stressors, and reconnect with God, self, and with family and friends. And Archbishop LeGatt devotes this month’s message to this very idea. Indeed, while we take a step back from our daily obligations, let us certainly not take a step back away from God, but rather take this time for prayer and find rest within Him who is our rest. Wishing you all a fun, safe, and restful summer! God be with you!

Photo Gallery of the Diocesan Multicultural Mass & Celebration
St. Boniface Cathedral was packed on Canada Day morning as Bishop LeGatt presided over the diocesan multicultural mass. Diversity was in the spotlight, thanks to the participation of numerous cultural communities. Many thanks to the following groups: the Congolese Catholic community, the Nigerian Catholic community, St. Philip Minh parish, Nuestra Señora de la Asunción parish, Couples for Christ, Missionary Families of Christ, Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus, the Chinese Catholic community of Mary parish, Mother of the Church, representatives of the French-Canadian Catholic community. The Most Reverend Michael Apochi, Bishop of the Diocese of Otukpo in Nigeria, was also in Winnipeg to celebrate with us.
After mass, the faithful were able to sample dishes from these many cultures, and enjoy traditional and contemporary music from these groups. The little ones enjoyed a variety of games. Many thanks to the many people who volunteered to help prepare the event and on the day itself.
