Photo gallery - Diocesan Multicultural Mass on July 1st

The Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface was in full celebration on July 1 at the Diocesan Multicultural Mass held at the Cathedral of Saint-Boniface. The whole building was packed for this special Eucharistic celebration, which showcased the cultural diversity of our archdiocese, not to mention Christian hope. In his homily, Archbishop LeGatt emphasised the importance of peace - in our families, our communities, our country and the world.
To underline the beauty of this hope, the choir sang in Tagalog, Vietnamese, Nigerian, Spanish and our two official languages. The mass was followed by musical performances and a selection of delicious dishes representing the many cultures of our parishes. What a wonderful way to celebrate Canada Day!

Photo Gallery - Unveiling of ‘Grandfather Rock’

On June 20, the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface welcomed aboriginal elders Clayton Sandy and Richard Courchene, students at Murdoch McKay College Institute, accompanied by their industrial arts teacher Collin Doyle and vice-principal Jordan Zopp, as well as Robert Loiselle, Member of the Provincial Parliament for Saint-Boniface, to take part in the unveiling of ‘Grandfather Rock’, a significant stone in Aboriginal spiritual tradition. The stone was topped by a symbolic sweat lodge.

The unveiling took place as part of National Indigenous Peoples' Day, and represented an important gesture of reconciliation and inter-religious dialogue for the Archdiocese.

Archbishop LeGatt & the Reverend Norman Mead: Conversation for National Indigenous Peoples Day

During this National Indigenous History Month, and in view of National Indigenous Peoples Day which takes place June 21st, Archbishop Albert discusses reconciliation with Norman Meade, Elder and Reverend in the Anglican Church. Truly, great lengths remain in the paths of truth and reconciliation. Yet, concerted efforts from all parties continue to lay the foundations to the reconciliation we seek.

Please join us in praying for truth and reconciliation on Turtle Island, for all peoples who inhabit it, both Indigenous and settler peoples.

Saint Boniface Cathedral was packed with the faithful, on May 31st, for the presbyteral ordination of Peter Trần. The solemn Mass, presided by Archbishop Albert LeGatt, was notable for the number of priests in attendance, as well as for the presence of Peter Trần's parents, Minh Dung Tran and Thi Kim Le. Many thanks to the diocesan choir, the St. Philip Minh Parish choir and the technical team who made it possible to livestream the ordination so that Peter Trần's family and friends in Vietnam could take part in the celebration from a distance.
