On the Heels of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
On the heels of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Archbishop LeGatt reflects on his experience with Clan Mothers. As settlers, let us be allies, partners, in walking together in the paths of truth and reconciliation. “Wherever there is something good, healing, creating new life, hope, and peace, wherever we see this, let us not just be outside observers, but really allies, giving our own heart and prayers to this work of the Creator, of God.”

“On September 12th, clergy from across the dioceses of Winnipeg and St. Boniface gathered for the Inter-Diocesan RCIA Clergy Dialogue. The Inter-diocesan clergy dialogue on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) yielded many fruitful insights, fostering a spirit of collaboration among the clergy. Participants engaged in thoughtful discussions about the challenges and opportunities within their respective parishes, considering best practices and innovative approaches to enhance the RCIA process. The meeting featured presentations by Archbishop Albert LeGatt and Archbishop Richard Gagnon on the topics respectively, “The Historical, Local, Theological, and Liturgical Perspectives on RCIA” and “Catechumenal Culture: Embracing Conflict, Understanding Synodality, the Empowerment of Baptism”. By the end of this initial gathering it was evident that we consider the importance of creating a welcoming environment for catechumens, along with a commitment to ongoing formation for those involved in the RCIA ministry. The bishops and priests left the meeting energized and equipped with new strategies to enrich their communities, reinforcing their collective mission to guide new members into the Catholic faith.” – Koreen Hrizai, Coordinator, Office of Catechetics and Adult Faith Growth (English Sector) Archdiocese of Saint Boniface

Archbishop LeGatt - On Supporting Each Others' Mental Health and Well-Being
As the first month of the year has already come to a close, Archbishop LeGatt proposes a reflection focusing on mental health. Indeed, these darkest and coldest days of the year bring with them a particular toll on our mental health, and now more than ever, it is important for us to reflect on mental health and on the wellbeing of those around us. Let us seek each other out, therefore, care for each other, and be particularly compassionate with each other, being Christ’s light and hope for each other, even in the darkest of times.
