Bishop LeGatt on the Assumption and Mary’s ‘Yes’

August 15th is the feast of the Assumption, and is also the occasion during which we typically celebrate an archdiocesan pilgrimage at the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in Saint-Malo. Although this pilgrimage will not be taking place this year because of Covid, Archbishop Albert still invites us to reflect on Mary’s role in our lives. As her Assumption was a reflection of Jesus’ Ascension, so too are we called to join them in Heaven in God the Father’s love and glory. Mary’s Assumption was the result of many, persistent and faithful ‘yes’s’, from the moment of her conception to her death. Her yes was repeated daily, even when things seemed uncertain or unclear. We are also called, like Mary, to say yes to God, every day of our lives: yes to being his hands and feet and yes to faithfully following Him, especially in these uncertain times.
This August 15th, Archbishop Albert invites you and your family to join him in praying a Rosary, for the intentions of our world. Hail Mary…
Also! For those of you who have asked, Archbishop Albert's knee replacement went just as expected, and his recovery is well underway. He recorded this message not even a week after the procedure! He is grateful for your prayers and support!

Bishop LeGatt: We Truly Are His Hands and Feet!

Through this entire pandemic, what has given Archbishop Albert has been witnessing the countless people in our parishes and communities who have stepped up to serve. So many have come up with creative and effective initiatives to reach out. These are signs of God’s love, who never abandons us. We truly are His hands and feet! Archbishop Albert takes this opportunity to express a heartfelt thanks to all who have stepped forward.

Bishop LeGatt: Discernment in Times of Pandemic

Life sometimes requires us to make big decisions, regarding our career, family, life, among many others. It can be very difficult to make these decisions, especially so in these times of pandemic. How can we make big decisions within a context filled with so much uncertainty? So little sense of control? This week, Archbishop Albert suggests a few tips, and reminds us that the Lord is always with us, that He walks with us, and that He watches over us, especially in these difficult times.

Bishop LeGatt: We're all in this together for the long haul

When we say Amen to receiving Jesus, we say Amen to one another for the long haul. This week, Archbishop Albert invites us, in these summer months, to remain vigilant, being patient with one another. It’s about mutually supporting one another. Let us be careful, be kind, be patient - for the long haul.

Bishop LeGatt: Let us be part of God's How

God has always rescued His people in the midst of crisis, as He will continue to do for us. The question now is whether we see how He does this. In this week’s message, Archbishop Albert invites us to reflect on our part to play in God’s how. We could be tempted to selfishly turn back onto ourselves, and act on our own whims and desires, no matter the consequences. But God’s Love calls us away from this, to social consciousness, motivated by true love for our sisters and brothers.

Bishop LeGatt: Listen to the Rustle of the Wind

Summer is finally here! For many, summer is a time for rest and relaxation, and can also be a beautiful way of reconnecting with God, with ourselves, and with Creation. On this 5th anniversary of the publication of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si, Archbishop Albert invites us to take some time to immerse ourselves into the beauty of Creation, this summer: to hear God’s voice through the rustle of the wind, and the crashing of the waves.
