New members welcome!

Jesus asked us to care for the society’s most vulnerable citizens just as He did and gave us our greatest commandment to love others as ourselves. As Christians, we are asked to help them in any way we can, sharing our time, talent and treasure with them. Who are they? They are the poor, the lonely, the hungry, the displaced, the imprisoned, the elderly, the sick…..the needs are many in our communities, in our diocese, and in our parishes. They are us, all part of God’s family. It is up to us as God’s faithful, to maintain human rights and dignity for everyone in society. Many of us are already involved: financially supporting and welcoming refugees to our parishes, visiting the elderly, praying for peace, but there are also many other places where a kind and generous heart and hand would be appreciated.

Who are we? We are the Diocesan Social Justice Committee, established to enhance awareness of brothers and sisters who are waiting for a helping hand. We are promoting social justice in OUR diocese, hoping to assist Parish Pastoral Councils and parishioners by informing them of ways and opportunities they can better serve as people of God in their own communities and parishes.
