Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. - John 12:24

Rite of Election Photo Gallery
Around 225 people attended the Rite of Election, held on February 18 at St. Boniface Cathedral. The Rite, presided by Archbishop LeGatt, saw 31 catechumens enrolled in the Book of the Elect. The catechumens were accompanied by their sponsors and families. Congratulations and blessings to all of the Elect! A big thank you to Paul Hyunhui Choi for the beautiful photos. The Archdiocese defends life and the free expression of beliefs
On Thursday, March 7, the Manitoba government introduced legislation to ban demonstrations in the vicinity of clinics and hospitals where abortions are performed. For the Archdiocese of Manitoba, this is a deeply worrying development: "If adopted, this bill would curtail the presence of pro-life messaging in the vicinity of abortion service providers, a decision that we believe limits citizens in the free expression of their deep beliefs." Archbishop LeGatt - On Supporting Each Others' Mental Health and Well-Being
As the first month of the year has already come to a close, Archbishop LeGatt proposes a reflection focusing on mental health. Indeed, these darkest and coldest days of the year bring with them a particular toll on our mental health, and now more than ever, it is important for us to reflect on mental health and on the wellbeing of those around us. Let us seek each other out, therefore, care for each other, and be particularly compassionate with each other, being Christ’s light and hope for each other, even in the darkest of times.
Archbishop LeGatt on Powerlessness While Facing War
Considering the immense suffering that people across the world are experiencing, through war, famine, and catastrophe impacting all corners of our planet, Archbishop Albert shares with us a reflection on how we can respond. Truly, it could be all too tempting to become apathetic in the face of our own helplessness regarding worldwide crises. However, we are not helpless, and must all be actively committed to peace and unity, abroad as much as here at home. Truly, let us pray: God, without you, we can do nothing. But, give us the strength, then, to be your servants, here, now, where we are. Lord, may your Kingdom come.

Archbishop LeGatt - Two Paths Towards Solidarity With the Indigenous
In this first of a series of videos on how we can all become more aware of the past and present realities of Indigenous people, with the goal of reaching out to the Indigenous in friendship and justice, Bishop LeGatt proposes two initiatives that, serving as potential first steps, can help us come closer to walking together with Indigenous people, here at home.
The first is the "Listening to Indigenous Voices" program, which will first be offered in French, starting Thursday October 5 at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens parish (Look forward to an English language opportunity in the New Year!). These eight meetings, led by Oblate Brother Thomas Novak, are an invitation to deepen our knowledge and open our hearts.
For more information or to register, visit the "Walking Together" section of the diocesan website, www.archsaintboniface.ca And if you're already interested, contact Daniel Bahuaud at 204-594-0277 or communications@archsaintboniface.ca to register.
The second initiative is the online course "4 Seasons of Reconciliation". This course takes about three hours, to complete, but everyone can follow it at their own pace. The Archdiocese has secured sixty places, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Again, for more information or to register for this course, contact Daniel Bahuaud at 204-594-0277 or communications@archsaintboniface.ca
