Archbishop LeGatt's 2024 Easter Message

In his 2024 Easter message, Archbishop Albert reflects on the relentless and never-ending hope born out of the cross and resurrection of Christ. Indeed, the temptation to despair may be all too strong upon learning about various tragedies befalling our world, both globally, and locally.
Yet, in this Easter tide, Archbishop Albert implores us to reflect and deeply pray on what hope can mean for us today. How can we incarnate hope, concretely, for the world around us? What is joy brought to others, and what is peace for the hearts of all? We all have a part to play, together, comprising one body, invaluable members of the body of Christ.
He is risen, Truly, he is risen indeed! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

The Archdiocese defends life and the free expression of beliefs

On Thursday, March 7, the Manitoba government introduced legislation to ban demonstrations in the vicinity of clinics and hospitals where abortions are performed. For the Archdiocese of Manitoba, this is a deeply worrying development: "If adopted, this bill would curtail the presence of pro-life messaging in the vicinity of abortion service providers, a decision that we believe limits citizens in the free expression of their deep beliefs." Archbishop LeGatt - On Supporting Each Others' Mental Health and Well-Being

As the first month of the year has already come to a close, Archbishop LeGatt proposes a reflection focusing on mental health. Indeed, these darkest and coldest days of the year bring with them a particular toll on our mental health, and now more than ever, it is important for us to reflect on mental health and on the wellbeing of those around us. Let us seek each other out, therefore, care for each other, and be particularly compassionate with each other, being Christ’s light and hope for each other, even in the darkest of times.
