: Nathanael - Selection Criteria :
Requirements for Acceptance - Nathanael:
- Each applicant must be a practicing Catholic and a member of the Archdiocese of St. Boniface or Winnipeg.
- The applicant should be of proven maturity.
- Each applicant for the Formation of Ministers Program should be recommended by the Pastor and/or Pastoral Council, and be prepared to provide additional appropriate references for contact by the Selection Committee.
- Since a real spiritual growth takes place for those who enter wholeheartedly into the Program, the spouses are strongly encouraged to follow as much of the Program as possible with their husband or wife as this would further enrich their married lives.
- Since the Formation Program will require time away from the family it is important that the applicant have a stable family life
- All applicants and their spouses will be interviewed prior to their acceptance into the Program by a representative of the Acceptance Committee.
- An applicant must be a member of a parish community.
- Effective leadership in other than Church-related community organizations is a desired quality in an applicant.
- The applicant should be prepared to follow the Program on the basis of one weekend per month, 10 months a year for three years.
- The applicant should be prepared to participate in a Formation Program that involves some academic input, a spiritual dimension, and practical projects relating to the ministry for which he or she is preparing. Periodic evaluations of the candidate’s progress and suitability for ongoing formation will be conducted during this three year period.
